2022 was a ground-breaking year for the development of 'Turas House', East Clare. As we come to the close of our first full year of being able to host so many events here, we can now confirm that 2023 will see more expansion of what will be on offer. But before we give you details of one of our new projects, we must extend a huge thank you to each and every person who has supported our work here this year. The diary is full of names of people who have supported us in so many ways and the property has seen a wonderful flow of new and old friends walk through the door. This is just the beginning as a number of new initiatives will kick off during 2023.
One such project will be An Seisiún Ciúin. As some of you know we launched An Stabla sessions in 2021, while we were still in and out of being able to integrate within the community. This project was a fantastic foundation for what is coming in 2023. An Seisiún Ciúin will kick off from February and run at various intervals throughout the year. Traditional performing musicians who may be passing through and have a free date on their diary will come to Turas House, perform, chat, tell stories about their music and then lead a trad session where other musicians can join in. The initiative is open to listeners and traditional musicians and information on these events will only be accessed by private group, hence the name An Seisiún Ciúin (The Quiet Session), details will only be available to those booking through the private group WhatsApp list. We are so delighted to launch this new initiative and look forward to hearing from you. If you would like to be part of An Seisiún Ciuin, please email cliopatricia@gmail.com.
