Summer Dates at An Stábla

Updated: Mar 16

Here is a little reminder of our very first weekend of workshops at An Stábla during the summer of 2021, when it all began. This is for those of you who prefer to participate in smaller group gatherings for workshops and sessions away from crowds. Before Irish music was played in the pub, people gathered in more rural settings such as barns, cottages and at cross-roads where neighbours, musicians, story-tellers, singers and dancers gathered, sharing and connecting as a community.

Here is an aerial view of us

An Stábla is set in the Slieve Aughty Mountain protected area of East Clare, overlooking Iniscealtra (Holy Island) and is idyllic in that it provides the opportunity to immerse yourself in the surrounding landscape of East Clare while soaking up East Clare style music with intimate numbers of participants. Workshops take place in the morning and the afternoon is free to take a woodland walk and/or guided cold water swim soaking up the view of Iniscealtra. In the evening, we gather for tunes around the stove with tea and scones a feature of the night, sharing music, song and stories. If you would like to take part in one of our workshops, please select a date below and contact Cli on

Workshops this summer by Pat O'Connor (fiddle, East Clare) and night sessions hosted by Cli Donnellan (fiddle, East Clare). These workshops are not limited to fiddle, all instruments welcome.
